Rick Sterne is a Managing Director of Lightyear Capital and a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Lightyear Capital in January 2001, Mr. Sterne spent five years at PaineWebber Inc., where he was a Managing Director and head of the Principal Transactions Group. Prior to PaineWebber, Mr. Sterne served as Chairman of Links Securities, a broker-dealer specializing in mortgage securities; a Partner at Granite Capital, a hedge fund encompassing equity and fixed income funds; and a Director for Kleinwort Benson Cross Financing Inc. Prior to managing Kleinwort Benson's proprietary interest rate futures and interest rate swap program, Mr. Sterne served as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Sterne is a founding board member of the Interest Rate Swap Dealers Association.
Mr. Sterne is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lightyear Capital portfolio company Athilon Group Holdings Corp.
Mr. Sterne received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
